Neuromuscular Manual Therapy
The practice of non-invasive physical techniques used to manipulate or mobilize the soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of decreasing pain, increasing mobility and stability.
What Neuromuscular Manual Therapy Cannot do:
There is no evidence found to support claims that manual/massage therapy can directly:
- Increase muscle tone, muscle strength or bulk
- Decrease the amount of cellulite or adipose tissue
- Prevent muscular atrophy in the denervated tissue with a permanent nerve lesion
